I create both traditional and digital art as well as a combination of the two.

For this first year project, I was to create an illustrative story. I chose to create mine as a tourism poster for a town on Manitoulin Island. I painted 8 watercolour paintings to replicate Polaroids and created a composition digitally to layout the photos to tell a story of 'Visiting Kagawong'.

This was a second year project where I learned about using underpainting to layout the aspects of an image to create a painting. I chose to create my underpainting for a photo I took back home. I created a monochromatic underpainting to layout the photo details before painting the final piece, using different values to create shadows and highlights.

This first year project taught me how to use the grid method to enlarge an image as a sketch. I chose to create a sketch of a calf from the farm I grew up on. I created my final sketch to be twice the size of the original photo. I focussed on creating different values to show shadows and highlights in order to have a realistic looking sketch.

This was a second year project where the objective was to pick an advertisement, then choose three colours from the ad to create an illustration that represented those colours. I chose a drink ad and created an illustration from my chosen colours that would represent the meaning of those colours, enthusiasm and sweetness.

This was a second year project I was to create a recipe info graphic that would be simple to read and understand. I chose to create an info graphic for one of my favourite recipes, Banana Bread Cookies. I created simple icons for ingredients and instructions in order to create an info graphic that anyone, young and old, could understand and make the recipe without even having to read the recipe.

This was a first year project where I learned about the style of Art Nouveau. I was to create a self portrait in that art style as well as putting my own personal twist to help show off my digital illustration style.

This was a first year end of the semester project where I was to illustrate a comic strip. I designed a comic strip for a traveling frog named Frederick.

This was a second year assignment where I was to take a photo and turn it into an illustrated cosplay comic book cover. I created a new cover for the comic character, Scooby-Doo.
***Concept Design Only***

This was a first year assignment where I was to design a poster that would visually represent all of the elements and principles of design. I chose to create an ark with every animal representing a different element or principle.

This was a second year assignment where I learned how to do Lino Block Printing. It was an interesting process, creating my design, carefully cutting it out, rolling on the ink, and then making a print on a card.

This was a second year assignment where I was to design stickers. I learned how to properly lay them out in order to be printed properly and cut using the cricut. I chose to use illustrations for my stickers, using artwork I had previously created.
I created this for an assignment in my second year of Graphic Design. I have since updated my logo but it shows where I began learning about animation.
